I was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs and attended Wissahickon High School. Now I’m living the dream in Oceanside, CA with my wife Maddie, our newborn daughter Charley, and our pups: Finn & Kobe.
Education
I studied International Business and Economics at Rollins College in Winter Park Florida. I was looking for a place with great academics, lacrosse, and sunshine. Rollins was perfect. The international business curriculum was setup like a mini MBA, it was exactly what I needed.
I value my liberal arts education because the focus was not only about how to succeed in a given profession, but how to think critically and carve your own path.
Early career startups
After school, I joined a startup over a corporate sales gig because I always had a passion for technology and it afforded me the opportunity to learn hands-on where I generate the most value. Turns out, it was as a product manager.
A seasoned architect with an entrepreneurial bug had a problem: although he had an engineering team and knew how to build cloud apps, he was struggling to market and sell it. He thought an energetic business major could help him market and sell his booking software to physicians. Luckily he found me and together we discovered and launched an enduring restaurant services platform.
After developing a passion for product, I craved a startup environment with smart people devoted to solving complex challenges. I found one at Viewpost. I was entirely bought in to the product vision and did as much as I could to advance it.
Consulting
After a health scare for Maddie refocused our priorities on being closer to family we moved to Seattle.
I took a contract with Apple Leisure Group to get settled in Seattle. I then joined Ratio, a scrappy agency consulting on diverse product opportunities, a perfect environment to learn and grow.
Once acquired by Globant: I identified an opportunity to apply my skills to a lagging product in the portfolio: Signal OTT Platform as a Service. I proposed my ownership and was trusted to rejuvenate the platform landing a couple clients (FanDuel, FloSports) in the process.
After handing off Signal, I consulted for a variety of companies: HBO, PlutoTV, Realogy Coldwell Banker, Artria Wealth Solutions, and LivePerson.
After 3 years in the agency and consulting game I was eager to sink my teeth into a new challenge and found an interesting one at Clear Channel Outdoor. CCO was working on optimizing a real-time bidding API to facilitate ad networks conducting real time auctions for thousands of billboards nationwide. A very interesting technical challenge! I also found a great team of people. Seven years into my career it was becoming clear finding a great team was important to me, and not something to be taken for granted.
Back to startup land
The startup bug bit me again when one of my wife’s best friends randomly shared about an exciting company she had recently joined. I had been eager to jump back in to startup life and Premise was a perfect fit.
The Premise Customer team had a problem: they were drowning in demand for insights which required services and struggling to define a path to insights at scale. Since then, I helped Premise deliver insights at scale by leading the team that launched MyPremise platform where all customers collaborate, analyze their data, and create/consume insights. This correlated tightly with doubling ARR, and significantly growing commercial revenue, a key strategic focus. I was promoted to Senior PM.
I recently helped lead incubation and launch of Premise AI-Powered Video+Voice. The first LLM powered product I’ve contributed to.
All the while I have been continually learning and honing my craft teaching myself from the best available content and with weekend projects like cofounding a bootstrapped stealth startup and going from zero to revenue or attending hackathons.
My diverse set of experiences has challenged me to apply a different lens to each context. This reinforced and built upon product fundamentals that can be applied anywhere. I’m excited to continue learning while doing (in my opinion) the best job in the world.
